Tollywood heartthrob Asin and Bollywood megastar Salman Khan would hardly be the ideal pairing after the previous flick that starred both of them, ‘London Dreams’ didn’t perform well in the theaters. However, Salman was very keen on starring opposite Asin again in Anees Bazmi’s Ready. He was also poised to sign Asin for his sister Alvira’s production ‘Bodyguard’, which is a Tamil remake of Kavalan.

An inside source revealed that Salman was first smitten by the Southie marvel after he saw her in ‘Kavalan’ which also starred Vijay. He was keen on remaking the film in Hindi, with Asin playing the lead role.

However, much to his disappointment, Asin rejected his offers, albeit politely. According to the source, she politely declined the offer due to two reasons. She was not to keen on doing another Hindi rendition of a Tamil flick, having worked previously on ‘Ghajni’. Also, having worked with Salman in two previous films, Reddy and London Dreams, she is now keen on exploring newer avenues and acting with different stars.

If rumors are to be believed, she is about to sign films with Shah Rukh Kahn and Saif Ali Khan. Salman understands Asin’s plight and has agreed to wait until she establishes herself in Bollywood.

Speaking to the press regarding this whole saga, Asin came prepared with a guarded response, claiming, it wasn't right to talk about films she didn't do. She also said that she just finished shooting for Kavalan and that Salman’s sister would be remaking it in Hindi, titled ‘Bodyguard.’ She stated clearly that she wouldn’t star in the remake, just like she didn’t in the Malayalam remake, directed by Siddique. She also revealed that she had promised Siddique that she would star in the Hindi remake, if he ever decided to make one.

Regardless of what has been said and done, there is no doubt that Asin is looking to gain a firm foothold in Bollywood and is looking to make it big in tinsel town. Here’s hoping she succeeds and we’re looking forward to seeing her in different roles in both Tollywood and Bollywood movies.
