Considering that it was named 'Kanimozhi', many were under the impression that the film would have some relation to today's political condition in Tamil Nadu. Fortunately, or unfortunately, it does not. On the contrary, it's a simple romantic film (love story) with an overdose of philosophical twists. 'Kanimozhi' is based on the philosophy that dreams will be fulfilled, presenting Jai as having a fetish for writing a diary, whilst changing things that go wrong in his life to have a happy ending. He comes across a pretty girl, played by Shazahn Padamsee, who he is intimidated by and cannot build up the courage to tell her his true feelings. Meanwhile, Vijay Vasanth also takes a liking to her and uses a different method to convey his feelings. With whom the girl falls for forms the crux of the story.
Review of Kanimozhi:-
After having worked under director Venkat Prabhu, Sripathi Rangasamy makes his first independent directorial outing in Kanimozhi produced by T Siva of Amma Creations and Sona Heyden of Uniq Productions. The film had raised a lot of expectations, primarily due to its name and the grand audio release function under the aegis of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Both the screenplay and the story of the film has failed to impress the audiences. However, we must say that Sripathy Rangasamy had done a good job considering that this is his debut venture. At least, he has handled the lead characters well giving them individual spaces. Actor 'Jai', is playing the role of a guy called 'Rajesh' loves Shahzahn madly. He is unaware of the girl's name until the end of the film. 'Rajesh' takes it for granted that the girl too loves him the way he does. 'Kanimozhi' music director Satish Chakravarthy gave some good music to this movie. The song Muzhu Madhi is good to hear. 'Bollywood' film 'Rocket Singh - Salesman of the year' fame heroine Shahazn Padamsee has no elements of emotions at all in the entire movie. There is not even a single scene to justify why she had chosen for that character.
