Monika feels there is nothing wrong in acting in a bathing scene

Monika was considered as a heroine who mainly takes up homely roles, until recently. But now, in her latest movie ‘Nanjupuram’ she has performed in a bathing scene, which most of the popular actresses would try to avoid. When she is asked about how she has accepted to do that scene, she looks surprised and wonders why people keep asking the same question where ever she goes. She looks surprised because, she feels that she has not shown any obscenity or vulgarity in the bathing scene, yet she doesn’t know why, people make it a big issue. She even justifies acting in that particular scene by stating that even in olden days actresses used to act in bathing scenes and she adds that in spite of doing such scenes, they are respected till today.



Monika who came into Tamil industry as a child artist did not shine very well as soon as she started playing lead roles in movies. Could this also be a reason for her decision to act in glamorous scenes? Anyway, there is nothing to find fault with her performance in her latest movie. And now, it looks like she has quite a few upcoming movies in Tamil and as well as in other languages. Monika says that she is getting lots of offers to do television serials. But she is saying no to them, as she concentrates mainly on movies. It looks like she wants to put her full effort exclusively in cinemas.



From the way she speaks, it is understandable that she has great love for cinemas. She says that she is interested not only in acting but also in technical aspects of cinemas. She even accepts that she has not yet got the right opportunity to reveal her talent. It looks like she is waiting for a good chance which would take her to great heights in cinema field. She does look over enthusiastic about her new projects. At the same time, Monika must be careful in choosing the right scripts, as her enthusiasm might make her choose the wrong movie.
